Collections
The SCMA has recently purchased database software that will allow our online visitors to search our extensive collection, including items that are currently in storage. The museum has a vast collection: thousands of artifacts, oral histories and archival materials including newspapers, manuscripts, and albums. We are currently in the transition phase of preparing our records for this future transfer. We expect to have a "search the collection" feature on the website once the transfer has taken place.
Research
If you are interested in conducting research or viewing certain parts of the collection that are not currently on display, please contact the museum to make an appointment well in advance. Museum staff can provide the first half hour of research free of charge, after which the charge is $25.00/hour.
Gaining access to the collection
Thanks to a grant from the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre, our archived newspaper collection can be viewed online and is freely accessible to the public. Learn more>
