About Us

The Sunshine Coast Museum and Archives is an innovative and community-driven
heritage destination located on the beautiful Sunshine Coast of British
Columbia. We strive to preserve, promote and reflect the unique histories of the
region, guided by our mandate to:

  • SPARK your imagination...

  • INSPIRE heritage action, research, and volunteerism...

  • REFLECT the needs of our communities...

  • & CELEBRATE our unique histories....

You will see us hosting and collaborating on workshops, film screenings and events related to our exhibits and to community issues. You might notice that we are welcoming and excited professionals, passionate about the histories of the Sunshine Coast and
we want you to be involved: THIS IS YOUR MUSEUM!

The Sunshine Coast Museum and Archives presents the history of the Sunshine Coast and its inhabitants. We have two floors of exhibits to explore as well as a resource room, reference library, and extensive archives with over 9,000 photographs & documents.

We are a non-profit society and we gratefully acknowledge the support of the Sunshine Coast Regional District, Town of Gibsons, District Municipality of Sechelt, our sponsors, our donors, and our members.
